This is my husband Andrew, my sweet step-daughter Maguire and I. Andrew is an incredible man and father. He encourages me in everything that I set out to do. He helps me to cut, sand and stain all of our wood and Maguire loves to help me decorate packages that are sent out to our clients.
I started out making signs after a Women's Conference I went to a few years ago. There was a woman there who made signs and I thought "I could totally do that." I started out on canvas making signs here and there. Then switched over to wood signs, created a business named "Amy Marie Designs," and made signs, did photography, and baked things for people.
I have to say I drug my feet on really starting a full blown small business. I work full time, I'm heavily involved in my local church and ministry, ran a household on my own and it was just a lot of work. I've become more serious about really putting my heart and soul into this work so I wanted to re-brand and that's how Edith & Co. was born.
Family means a lot to me, I think the idea of legacy and how specific traits are passed down through generations, has been somewhat lost. Our culture is fiercely independent. We don't always want to grow up and be like our parents or grandparents but my parents and grandparents were incredible people and I want that to live on in this business.
A little more about me: I love Jesus, a good book, snick snacks, baking pretty cakes, and being outdoors. I'm wildly in love with my handsome husband and his sweet daughter Maguire. I care deeply about loving and serving others. About making people feel at home and loved and welcome, but mostly about feeding them yummy food. I LOVE to gather around a big beautiful dinner table. I love camping, mostly because I love being outside in nature and campfires and being disconnected from the noise of life. I love live music or a live sporting event. I love creating pretty things and pretty spaces.
